Our ranges distinctive product with a bold, elegant taste is produced as a result of a double distillation and double ageing process. Produced by skillfully combining continuous and discontinuous distillation and a double ageing process, first in barriques and then oak barrels.
Smooth, complex and rounded with hints of sweet spices, such as vanilla and cinnamon, in addition to strong notes of clove. A lingering aftertaste.
In 1820 Jean Buton – master distiller of the imperial house of Napoleon I – left France to settle in Italy, in Bologna, where he founded the first Italian steam distillery. In 1939 Cognac Buton, the company’s flagship distillate, becomes Vecchia Romagna : the wine distillate with an unmistakable triangular bottle . Our brandy, unique, is the result of the traditional Vecchia Romagna Method, which consists of three basic steps : the combination of spirits obtained with the continuous “column” and discontinuous “charentais” method, aging in the historic cellars of Bologna and finally the blending of aged brandies from different casks and barriques.
